10-year-old schoolgirl handed over more than 10 thousand rubles to scammers
A resident of Mogilev contacted the 102 line: his ten-year-old daughter became a victim of phone scammers.
A fake law enforcement officer called the girl on a messenger app, threatening to put her mother in prison. To avoid this, it was necessary to take all savings from home and hand them over to a courier.
The schoolgirl got scared and gave the unknown person the family safe containing over 10 thousand rubles in equivalent, according to Mogilev police.
Law enforcement officers identified and detained the courier. He turned out to be a 17-year-old student of a regional college, who was also deceived by the criminals.
First, he was offered to change an intercom, and his passport data was extorted, then his mother was threatened with prison.
To avoid this, the teenager agreed to complete the task. He kept the received box at home, awaiting further instructions from the curator. Police officers prevented the next transfer and recovered the entire amount.
