Mass demolition reached Kalvaryjskaya Street. Houses near "Korona" will soon be cleared
This autumn, waves of mass demolition simultaneously reached various corners of Minsk: construction equipment started work near "Minsk-Svet", came to Kaltsova Street and the Arlouskaya district . Now it's the turn of the private sector behind the "Korona" hypermarket, Realt.by writes .

Recently, the houses remaining in the area of Kalvaryjskaya and Maksim Tank Streets were fenced off with a construction fence. This means that the demolition process is entering an active phase. Realt.by journalists visited the site to document what the area looks like, where, according to rumors, residential high-rise buildings are planned to be built in the future.
Against the backdrop of a large shopping center, a million cars, and residential high-rises, the old wooden houses, of course, look out of place. Yet, once, the private sector, of which only two small alleys now remain, occupied the entire neighborhood.

While in summer some life could still be observed in the houses (some were packing, some were harvesting the last crop), with the onset of autumn, the households completely emptied.

Last time, the owners of the homesteads on Maksim Tank Street and in Slauny Lane told journalists that the issue of compensation payments was already settled. This is confirmed by the yellow construction fence that appeared recently. People have finally moved out, taking everything valuable from their houses, even stored building materials.

The prospects for this location, however, are enormous. Even with its modest size, the plot's location seems advantageous. Within walking distance are a metro station, an electric train stop, large stores, and the historic city center is just a stone's throw away.

Minsk developers have long eyed this site. However, while 10 years ago a business quarter was planned here, the concept has now shifted towards residential development.

Earlier, the Telegram channel "Lithuanian on Housing" reported that a large high-rise complex with "fantastic towers" would rise within the boundaries of Kalvaryjskaya and Tsimirazieva streets. However, city planners are currently keeping silent, and the data on the cadastral map of Minsk still remains the same.
