The crypto exchange Bitget has added Belarus to the list of prohibited jurisdictions and has begun ceasing service for clients who are residents of the country. The corresponding changes have already been made to the platform's user agreement.

Belarusian clients have received notifications demanding that they cease trading activity. The exchange strongly recommends closing all open positions by October 21. From October 22, any positions that remain open will be automatically liquidated by the system.
Experts link the tightening of restrictions to the need to comply with Western sanctions. Thus, Bitget has joined a number of major crypto exchanges, including Binance, OKX, and Bybit, which previously also intensified checks and restrictions for users from sanctioned jurisdictions.
According to experts, the situation is not critical for Belarusian investors: they are given time to withdraw funds and switch to other crypto exchanges.
In addition to Belarus, Bitget's list of prohibited jurisdictions for service includes Austria, Germany, France, USA, Canada, Japan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and other countries for various reasons.
At the end of 2025, access to the Bitget website in Belarus was already restricted. At that time, the Ministry of Information made such a decision due to improper advertising on the platform.
