A 45-year-old Minsk resident participated in a beauty contest and received a certificate for a tourist trip as a gift.
However, she was never able to use it, and instead of a free vacation, she lost almost 600 rubles, writes Onliner.by.
The woman found information about the contest in a messenger. The event was commercial, and after its completion, all participants received gift certificates for a trip from a foreign travel company.
After some time, the Minsk resident decided to use the gift. To do this, she was asked to scan a QR code, register, and make a payment to activate the certificate.
The woman followed the instructions and transferred about 600 rubles to a foreign account. However, after this, the company representatives stopped responding. The Minsk resident never received the promised trip.
A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of fraud.
