Recently, birds uncharacteristic of the urban environment have been spotted in various districts of Minsk, writes "Onliner". The situation was commented on by the Wild Animal Rehabilitation Center "Sirin" on social media.

Near Kalinovsky Street lives a cormorant with a broken wing, a mandarin duck swims among common ducks on the Svislach River, and a gray crane from the Red Book was previously spotted near one of the capital's schools.
At first glance, it might seem that these birds need help, but specialists ask not to interfere unnecessarily.
According to them, the crane is healthy, flies well, and runs fast. It is being observed, and attempts to catch the bird could lead to traffic accidents. However, the crane has not been seen for the past two days.
The cormorant has been living near Kalinovsky Street for about half a year. Despite its broken wing, it catches fish well and stays away from people. "Sirin" notes that the bird is doing fine, confidently fishing and sleeping on a willow tree. When it spreads its wings while basking on a stone, it might seem that it's in a bad state, but this impression is misleading. If winter is too harsh, the cormorant will be taken to a shelter and returned to its natural environment in spring.
The mandarin duck, which presumably escaped from a private collection, has adapted to life among common ducks. It currently has enough food, but specialists continue to monitor the bird.
The "Sirin" center urges Minsk residents not to try catching these birds or rescuing them independently. Specialists know their locations and will intervene if the birds truly need help.
