Lukashenka Promised Military Personnel Not to Send Them into 'This Slaughter' in Ukraine
On July 6, Alexander Lukashenka participated in a solemn ceremony honoring graduates of higher military educational institutions and representatives of the highest officer corps, where he made several statements.

During the meeting, Lukashenka noted that, allegedly, the deployment of the "Oreshnik" missile system and tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus has become an additional factor of strategic deterrence. He emphasized that these means are supposedly intended to guarantee the country's security, and not to threaten other states.
At the same time, Lukashenka stated that the results of a recent combat readiness check showed the need for further improvement of the Armed Forces. He called on graduates and generals to use their knowledge and experience to increase the army's effectiveness.
Touching upon the international situation, Lukashenka named the war in Ukraine as the main source of tension in the region. He also stated about the alleged course of the European Union towards militarization and traditionally accused the West of waging a hybrid war against Belarus, which includes economic, political, and informational pressure, as well as provocations on the southern borders.
According to Lukashenka, Belarus advocates for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine and has no intention of participating in the war. He emphasized that Belarusians do not want war but are ready to defend themselves if necessary.
"Certain Western politicians are simply irritated by our independence and sovereignty. Our alliance with Russia and commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
I emphasize once again, dear comrades, no one will send you into this slaughter. We do not need war; it is bad that war is happening in Ukraine. We are proponents of peaceful resolution of issues. But, as I said, the international 'party of war' does not want this," Lukashenka stated.
