Among those pardoned are 20 women and 12 men.
Usually, before public holidays (July 3, September 17, November 7, March 15), two or three dozen people convicted under political articles are released by pardon. Often these are those who are on home 'chemistry' (restricted freedom), and therefore are not included in the list of political prisoners.
And when an American delegation arrives, significantly more political prisoners are released. Thus, on September 11, 2025, 51 people were released, on December 13, 2025 — 123 people, on March 19, 2026 — 250 political prisoners.
Currently, according to "Viasna", there are 864 political prisoners in Belarus.
