Olympiad Star from Svetlahorsk Sentenced for 'Facilitating Extremist Activity'
31-year-old Darya Kalinava was the pride of Svetlahorsk in her youth, annually collecting diplomas at republican school Olympiads. She was recently sentenced on a political criminal charge.

The girl studied at a local gymnasium and from the sixth grade participated in Olympiads on vocational training. From 2007 to 2012, she became the winner of regional and final stages of the republican Olympiad.
The gymnasist also won awards at international festivals of research projects and in various creative competitions.
After graduating from school, Darya studied in Europe.
It recently became known that Darya Kalinava was sentenced in the Homiel Regional Court. She was accused of facilitating extremist activity (Parts 1 and 2 of Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code).
The circumstances of the case are unknown. The exact sentence is also unknown, but it's either 'restricted freedom with compulsory labor' or a penal colony.
