In his Facebook post, the Malaysian politician called receiving the car an "especial honor" and noted that it symbolizes friendship and good relations between Malaysia and Russia. The handover of keys took place at the Moscow museum "Garage of Special Purpose". It was not specified whether the car was purchased or gifted.
The Aurus Senat is an executive car with a hybrid engine based on a V8 and an electric motor, also with the possibility of armor plating. It is used as a high-level vehicle for officials.
King of Malaysia Sultan Ibrahim Ismail was one of the few heads of state this year who dared to go to Putin's parade. Besides him, there were only the presidents of Kazakhstan, Laos, and Uzbekistan, the Prime Minister of Slovakia, the leaders of the unrecognized Abkhazia and South Ossetia, an entire delegation from Republika Srpska within Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Alexander Lukashenka.
