According to the case materials, in the evening, the couple met and went to a cafe, after which they headed to the man's apartment on Rohachovskaya Street. There they continued to consume alcohol.
Eventually, a verbal conflict arose between them, and at one point, the man threw a piece of cake at the woman. After this, she went to wash herself, then took a kitchen knife from the sink and stabbed the man in the stomach with it.
After the incident, the woman washed the knife of blood. She refused to call an ambulance, so the victim did it himself. The man was taken to the hospital. Experts recognized the injury as severe and life-threatening.
The woman was detained and a criminal case was opened against her. In court, she admitted guilt only partially, claiming that she inflicted the wound allegedly unintentionally.
The court, however, found her guilty of intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm and sentenced her to three years of restricted freedom without being sent to an open-type institution ("home chemistry").
