"Horrible horror." In a Russian hotel, a monument to soldier Alyosha was placed right next to the bed
Victory-frenzy creative work in one of Vologda's hotels crossed the boundaries of comfort zones and common sense. In a room named "Murmansk," a gypsum copy of the famous "Alyosha" monument — a Soviet memorial to the defenders of the Great Patriotic War — was installed. Now guests are offered to fall asleep under the watchful gaze of a huge concrete figure with a weapon behind its back.
The hotel decided to decorate its rooms in the style of various Russian cities, reports "Astra." While other rooms might feature local ornaments or landscapes, "Murmansk" was presented in a special way. "You enter — and immediately understand: this is not just a room," the hotel proudly notes in its description.
The reaction of network users was far from patriotic admiration. The main emotion was fear. People noted that the proximity to a "strange and huge" man standing over you while you sleep is, to put it mildly, terrifying.
"What should you even do if there's someone strange and huge in your room? The fact that he has a weapon behind his back — I won't even mention it, although you'd hardly notice it when half-asleep. Horrible horror," potential guests write in the comments.
Users particularly vividly imagine the atmosphere at night: when the light of lanterns or the moon falls on the gypsum soldier, the room turns into a set for a horror film.
The "Alyosha" monument, the original of which stands in Murmansk since 1974, is a memorial in honor of soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War.
Whether the room is popular is unknown.
