During last year's election campaign, Joe Biden had to listen to many taunts from Donald Trump's camp. Now the former president has struck back. He publicly criticized Trump and his presidency, and also called him a "loser," writes Bild.
Trump cares only about his own ego and bank account, Biden said at a Democratic Party gala in Maryland. He listed a number of controversial projects by the US president.
Trump ordered the demolition of the East Wing of the White House to build a ballroom there, wanted to name the Kennedy Center after himself, and is building a giant arch in Washington — "in honor of himself." Moreover, the president hired "his own pool cleaner" so that the pond near the Lincoln Memorial would not get overgrown with algae after renovation.
"Whoa, what a loser!" — Biden literally said to the laughter and applause of his fellow party members.
However, "the narcissism and incompetence of this administration" is not all, Biden continued. According to him, there is also "corruption — open, blatant corruption on a scale unknown to any administration in American history."
According to Biden, Trump has already earned billions since the beginning of his second presidential term.
"He has no shame. And, frankly, it's a disgrace to our country. Making money while holding the office of president is one of the reasons why he wants to be president," said the former head of the White House.
Biden also accused his successor of "deliberately destroying NATO" and of preferring Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin over American allies.
