A 62-year-old resident of Mogilev found an extreme life hack to combat balcony pests on the internet and decided to use it. Details were reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The pensioner found a disinsection tip online and decided to try it out in practice.
The woman generously treated the wooden walls of her balcony with acetone, after which she set the balcony on fire. The vapors of the flammable liquid instantly ignited, burning not only the wooden cladding but also the owner.
The incident occurred on the evening of June 27, but the injured woman did not immediately call an ambulance. She only got to the hospital the next day when her daughter, who visited her mother, found her in a terrible state.
Minsk Emergency Situations units were not called — the fire extinguished itself, destroying the balcony's finish.
