The Russian army is conducting large-scale three-day exercises on the preparation and use of nuclear forces in conditions of a threat of aggression, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported.
During the exercises, which will take place from May 19 to 21, launches of ballistic and cruise missiles will be carried out at training grounds on the territory of Russia.
More than 64 thousand military personnel, almost 8 thousand units of equipment and more than 200 missile launchers are planned to be involved in the exercises. The Armed Forces, Pacific and Northern Fleets of Russia will take part in the drills.
The Ministry of Defense stated that the objectives of the exercises are to practice actions to deter the enemy and to check the level of training of the involved troops.
