Russian Foreign Ministry Boasts About Russian "Immortal Regiment" Action in Minsk
Russia held a large-scale "Immortal Regiment" action in Minsk, despite opposition from the Belarusian side. It was led by the Russian Embassy in Belarus.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova reposted a publication by the Russian Embassy in Belarus about the propaganda-driven Russian "Immortal Regiment" action.
"The flags of the "Immortal Regiment" are in the capital of the Republic of Belarus, the hero city of Minsk," the Russian Embassy in Belarus boasted.
Despite the ban on the Russian action in Belarus, the Russians managed to carry it out.
Russian diplomats and pro-Russian activists attended the action.
"This year, a delegation from the Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation also joined the memorial action in the capital of Belarus," the Russian Embassy added.
The Belarusian authorities could not cope with Russian propaganda. Hryhor Azaronak could only hurl insults at ordinary pro-Russian activists.
For example, Vitebsk-based pro-Russian activist Elvira Mirsalimava complained on her Telegram channel that during the May 9 celebration, a conflict arose over the distribution of St. George's ribbons, and published a corresponding video. "We have different paraphernalia," one of the women replied to her regarding those ribbons.
"Well done, pig. You spoiled the holiday for specific people," Azaronak wrote about Mirsalimava. And he added a sarcastic "Patriot" in quotes.
