On April 23, Uladzimir Kulikovich passed away — a linguist who dedicated his life to his native language, reported the editorial board of the magazine "Rodnae Slova" on Facebook. He was 59 years old.

Uladzimir Kulikovich was born in 1967 in the Ashmyany district. In 1984, he graduated from Dakurnishki Secondary School, in 1991 — from the Faculty of Philology of BSU, and in 1994 — from the postgraduate studies of Belarusian State University.
From 1991 to 1998, he worked as a teacher at the Minsk Secondary Specialized School at BSU (now BSU Lyceum), and as a lecturer at the Department of Modern Belarusian Language at BSU. From 1998 to 2007, he was a senior lecturer, then an associate professor at this department. In 2001, he defended his PhD thesis on Uladzimir Dubouka's linguistic views.
From August 2007 until autumn 2009, Uladzimir Kulikovich was the editor-in-chief of the magazine "Rodnae Slova". He was also one of the regular authors of this publication since 1994, having published dozens of articles in it. Even this year, two publications from his author's cycle "Myths and Reality of Belarusian Orthography", which was published throughout last year, managed to see the light of day.
Since 2009, he worked as an associate professor and head of the Department of Editorial and Publishing Technologies at the Belarusian State Technological University.
He was the author of more than 500 scientific, popular science, and scientific-methodological works, including two monographs, about 50 teaching aids for pupils, teachers, students, and editorial and publishing staff.
