Trump: Russia is a giant country with an unlimited supply of people, and Ukraine itself should want peace
US President Donald Trump stated that Ukraine and its President Volodymyr Zelenskyy should strive to end the war and conclude a peace agreement with Russia. According to him, if Kyiv does not want to agree to such a deal, the consequences for the country could be very bad, writes The Moscow Times.

Trump also noted that the US and Europe have spent enormous funds supporting Ukraine, and European countries are already tired of these expenses. Therefore, in his opinion, the Ukrainian authorities should be interested in reaching a peace agreement.
Trump also called Russia a "giant country" with an almost unlimited supply of people. According to him, despite significant losses on the front, Russia has enough human resources to continue the offensive. The American president added that Russian troops already control a significant part of Ukrainian territory.
Commenting on the intensification of Russian strikes on civilian targets in Ukraine, Trump stated that mostly military personnel die in the war, although sometimes civilians in cities also come under shelling.
According to UN data, in September, 328 civilians died and another 2,105 people were injured as a result of hostilities in Ukraine.
Additionally, Trump reiterated that the US has done a lot for Ukraine, but in return, according to him, received nothing but expensive diesel fuel.
Shortly before the American president's statements, negotiations took place in Oslo between representatives of the US and Ukraine, with the participation of representatives from the European Union and NATO. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the parties agreed on a number of proposals for a peaceful settlement. It is expected that on October 21, Trump's special envoy, Steve Whitkoff, will hand over these proposals to the Russian leadership in St. Petersburg.
Earlier, The New York Times reported that during the negotiations, American representatives might have offered Ukraine territorial concessions in favor of Russia, including the transfer of Donbas under terms demanded by Vladimir Putin.
