Minsk Launches App for Pregnant Women. Doctors Can Be Consulted Online
A pilot project — a digital medical platform for pregnant women — has been launched in Minsk.
Future mothers will be able to store all data in the app, keep a well-being diary there, track changes in weight and blood pressure, as well as receive reminders about scheduled visits to the doctor at the women's clinic and the need to take vitamins. But the main thing is the possibility to get an online consultation with a doctor, reports Onliner.by.
The digital platform of the InDev Health medical service for remote monitoring of pregnant women's health has started operating in pilot mode. For now — at the 4th women's clinic of the 1st City Clinical Hospital in Minsk.
“The remote digital platform will allow the patient to quickly receive answers from the doctor to questions she is interested in. This enhances control over pregnancy management, and also helps reduce anxiety and certain fears in a pregnant woman. Thanks to the digital platform, doctors can track blood pressure indicators, fetal motor activity, and the glycemic level curve. In addition, a pregnant woman can ask a question at any moment, and the doctor will answer it within a short time,” said Dr. Aliaksandra Shkarupa, obstetrician-gynecologist and head of the department.
The patient is entered into the database by an administrator. After this, the information is seen by the doctor, who makes the necessary appointments, communicates with the patient in chat, coordinates examinations, and so on.
It is reported that the app even has a video chat feature: the patient sends a request, and the doctor decides whether to answer it or reschedule the conversation.
The main goal of the project is to simplify communication between the patient and the doctor. In the future, the digital platform may be implemented nationwide.
