"They got to the dogs too." Mikalai Statkevich told about the special operation against his pets

Political prisoner and leader of the "Narodnaya Hramada" party, Mikalai Statkevich, told on Telegram about an operation against his two dogs involving the police and the animal control service. "Perhaps the dogs were hindering close 'surveillance' of the house or unofficial 'visits' to it?" Statkevich ponders.

Old Loshytsa, where we still live, is scheduled for demolition. With our house, the judicial executors have created a delay. But neighboring houses are already empty, they are being demolished, fewer and fewer people live around, but there are more and more newcomers eager to wander through abandoned homesteads in search of "prey."

They don't dare to bother us, because now our dogs freely run around the fenced yard behind gates closed from the street and from the garden.

Apparently, for someone, the presence of two dogs in the yard creates "inconvenience." And a few days ago, when we left on errands, someone walked through the neighboring deserted homestead into our garden and broke the garden gate from the outside, which was insurmountable for the dogs. The dogs jumped out.

When we returned, we only found the small, reddish, and lively trickster Ricky at home, but the large and strong Boy was gone. Our search for him throughout the day yielded nothing. The next day, a "special vehicle" for catching dogs appeared in Loshytsa. Its specialists, whom Maryna managed to catch up with and "apprehend," confirmed that they had caught Boy and taken him to Hurskaha Street, having arrived at the police's call. But the red dog had escaped from them. And they were looking for him, with the help of the police, right near the house of the owners of these, supposedly, "ownerless stray" dogs. That is, whose dogs they were was no secret, at least not to the police. But they couldn't catch the red one there either.

Where were they initially caught, according to the employees of the special combine? Where all male dogs run – where a female dog is "in heat." Because they can smell her scent almost kilometers away. There were other, truly stray dogs there too, because people already evicted from Loshytsa, frightened by taxes and new government restrictions on pets, often leave them behind when moving, and even more often, residents of apartment buildings abandon them in the private sector. But they only caught specific dogs – ours.

We picked up Boy the next day from the shelter on Hurskaha Street, from a soundproof cell with tin-lined doors, a barred window, and the inscription "Isolator." A painfully familiar sight.

So, our family has another political prisoner – Boy (that's him in the photo with his now colleague). It's turning into some kind of criminal family.

I don't know why they needed all this.

Perhaps the dogs were hindering close "surveillance" of the house or unofficial "visits" to it?

Or do they still want to "cleanse" and force one particular family into emigration, as they have already successfully done with half a million Belarusians?

Or, having learned about our plans after moving, do they already have their own plans for them, where the dogs will be in their way?

For now, I don't know for sure.

But the scale of this special operation to "neutralize" two dogs is impressive. I imagine the planning process like this. First, they thought about how to gain access to these "objects."

The first option – simply opening the gate to the street so that the dogs would jump out onto it themselves, where they would "bite" someone (a "bitten" person could even be designated), or simply get lost in a two-million city, seemed the simplest. It was implemented a few weeks ago with the help of a local drunkard, who later blabbed about everything himself.

But the dogs, released by him onto the street at night and running around it, did not bite anyone, because the street is not their territory. There, even barking is just wasting unnecessary "barks." The "liberators" failed to catch them on that street even in the morning: when the owners woke up, the dogs were already home, albeit with noticeable injuries and unusually quiet behavior. After that, the gate and the small gate were equipped by me with more reliable locks and were constantly locked.

But the genius of Dzerzhinsky's descendants also did not sleep. It manifested itself in the next, more perfect plan. I assume that their analysts came to the profound conclusion that it is not enough to lure the dogs onto the street. They also need to run to a specific place where they can be "received."

In short, resorting to the depths of professional skill, they decided to use a method known for centuries, but still effective – the "honey trap." I imagine how the "services'" analysts study data obtained "through agents" about the biological cycles of surrounding female dogs to choose the time for the operation.

The ancient method worked flawlessly again – the desired "object" fell into the "honey trap." True, the second one managed to get away, and additional efforts were needed to apprehend him, which again were not successful, but led to the uncovering of this outstanding operation.

I think it all happened somewhere like that. I just don't know who and how was rewarded for this "pinnacle of professional competence." I only know that this whole celebration of professionalism was at our expense, yours and mine.
