Polish court canceled the date for transferring a child to his father, who intended to take him to Belarus
A Polish court canceled the transfer of a child to his biological father, scheduled for June 27, after reviewing an appeal filed by the boy's guardian, Hanna Kanavalava. This story was previously reported .

Kanavalava herself, together with the Partyzanka initiative, announced the court's decision. According to her, it was the result of a prolonged struggle involving human rights defenders, lawyers, journalists, and public activists.
“Our little one remains at home, next to the people he considers his family,” she noted.
Hanna Kanavalava moved to Poland from Belarus with two grandchildren whose parents were convicted under political articles. Later, two more children came under her guardianship — Ales, for whom the struggle is now ongoing, and his older half-brother Yauhen. Polish guardianship authorities transferred the children to Hanna after checking the family circumstances — their mother had alcohol and drug addictions and has since passed away.
In 2023, Ales' biological father, who lives in Minsk and previously served time in prison for drug trafficking, re-established contact with his son. Kanavalava did not hinder communication and even helped him obtain a Polish visa. However, the man later applied to the court demanding that guardianship of the child be transferred to him.
The court of first instance supported the father. However, during the consideration of the case, he did not disclose his intention to take the boy to Belarus. When this information became known, Kanavalava filed an appeal.
Of particular note in the case is that the child holds international protection status in Poland. A final decision on the case has not yet been made, so legal proceedings will continue.
