"Russia's strikes on Ukrainian cities demonstrate that Russia is not seriously considering a ceasefire. Significant damage to civilian objects has been recorded in Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, and Kherson regions. (...) All this indicates that Russia is not seriously considering a ceasefire, and the only thing that continues to concern the Russian leadership is a short-term silence on Red Square. Russia continues to kill people and is completely inadequately concerned only about a few hours of silence in one part of Moscow," Zelenskyy said in his address on May 7.
Zelenskyy warned that Ukraine would act in a mirror-like fashion and called for concrete steps to end the war.
"We proposed silence from 00:00 on May 6. Yesterday and today, this regime is being violated by Russia. In a mirror-like manner and in response to Russian strikes – our long-range sanctions, in response to Russia's readiness to move to diplomacy, we will follow the path of diplomacy," the President of Ukraine said.
