The Swiss championship follows the following format. First, 12 teams play in three rounds (33 matchdays), and then they are divided into two groups of six and play five additional rounds. The Scottish championship is contested in a similar fashion.
This is Thun's first championship title in history. A year ago, the team played in the second division (Challenge League).
In the Champions League, the club starts from the second qualifying round.
Yesterday, the Italian champion was also determined; Inter Milan prematurely became champion for the 21st time. In Portugal, Porto won the title (31st in history).
