In an interview with Ksenia Sobchak, Ilya Remeslo said that the main reason for problems in Russia is not individual officials or structures, but the person at the top of power who controls the entire system. According to him, he was referring to Putin. He claims that many understand this but are afraid to speak openly.
Remeslo also stated that he does not regret his previous statements and intends to continue his activities in the same direction. He even called himself the leader of Russia's opposition movement.
According to him, one should fight not only against Putin personally but also against "Putinism" as a system of governance. He also suggested that a quiet palace coup is possible in the country, which could be led by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The blogger said that he became critical of Putin after Yevgeny Prigozhin's mutiny in 2023. He now calls all his later laudatory posts addressed to the president irony, although he could not clearly explain this.
Regarding his hospitalization, Remeslo reported that he was taken by ambulance accompanied by police. He claims there was no forced treatment, and he was only given mild medications for insomnia. He spent three days in the clinic.
Ilya Remeslo became known even before the war in Ukraine for his fight against Alexei Navalny. In the interview, he also stated that he regrets Navalny's death in prison and feels guilty for his role in the persecution of the opposition figure.
