The main events of his visit, which is being carried out at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, are scheduled for May 14—15. On the morning of May 14, the president is expected to attend a solemn official welcome ceremony.
After that, bilateral talks with Xi will take place, and then Trump will visit the Temple of Heaven — an imperial temple complex from the 15th century. The culmination of the first day will be a state banquet.
On May 15, the leaders will hold informal talks over tea and a working lunch, after which Trump will leave Beijing.
This will be Trump's first visit to China since November 2017.
It is expected that an agreement will be reached regarding Xi's visit to the United States.
