Is Belarusian necessary for those who speak Russian? Azaronak raised this question on STB, and an Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs graduate proposed replacing lessons with electives
The audience supported those who advocated for the necessity of the Belarusian language.

«Belarusian language: is it necessary for those who speak Russian?» — this was the title of the talk show on STB «Da!No…» The host of the episode was propagandist Ryhor Azaronak.
Two teams argued in the talk show. One argued that the Belarusian language is a symbol of the nation and should be promoted. The second did not oppose the Belarusian language but did not understand its practical use and argued that the Belarusian language should not be mandatory everywhere or introduced by force.
Lawyer Ruslan Pyatrochanka, a graduate of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (he was on the second team), made the following proposal:
«I believe that the Belarusian language should be supported, not by setting specific hours for studying in school or universities, but perhaps through electives, without grades, and by other means.»

Ruslan himself studied in a Belarusian-language school. «I entered the academy after school — it was a nightmare because I knew physics and mathematics terms in Belarusian. I had to relearn everything there; it was difficult.»
During the broadcast, a question was asked from the audience: why do Belarusian language teachers most often speak Russian outside the educational process.
«In our school, Belarusian language teachers speak Belarusian during lessons and among themselves, because others, like physics and mathematics teachers, have a poor command of Belarusian. And we, as state employees, adhere to the rule that if people speak Russian to us, then we switch to Russian ourselves,»
— answered Sviatlana Skrotskaya, a Belarusian language teacher and principal of Minsk School No. 157 (she was on the «for» team).

Among the audience was Stanislau Bazhychka, Deputy Head of the Node for Ideological Work at the 62nd Central Communications Node of the Ministry of Defense. He noted that
many people express the desire to take the oath in Belarusian — from 30 to 50%.

At the end of the talk show, those present were asked to vote on which team's arguments they agreed with. 69% supported the team that advocated for the necessity of the Belarusian language.
Azaronak said in his closing remarks:
«The most important thing is that our youth, our children, know their native Belarusian language and their native Russian language.»
