From January 1 to October 2, 2026, Russia imported 542 million chicken eggs, almost all of which came from Belarus. However, compared to the same period last year, the volume of imports decreased by 10.1%, writes Kommersant.

The Russian Ministry of Agriculture stated that the growth of domestic production fully meets the needs of the internal market. Therefore, according to the ministry, the decrease in imports does not create risks for stable consumer supply. At the same time, Russian egg producers themselves supply their products abroad.
In January — September 2026, Russia exported 253.2 million eggs — 8.6% more than in the same period last year. The largest buyer of Russian eggs was Kyrgyzstan. It was followed by Mongolia, the United Arab Emirates, and self-proclaimed Abkhazia.
