The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) issued a warning to Yandex Reklama LLC. The reason was the discovery of advertisements for Nivea brand cosmetics on the "Onliner" website, the sale of which is prohibited in Belarus.
"As part of the review of a citizen's appeal, MART examined the mobile version of the online information resource 'Onliner' and found that at the end of articles in the 'Auto' and 'Technology' sections, there was advertising for the sale of cosmetic products, including Nivea brand products, the import and sale of which are prohibited," the statement says.
Onliner LLC received a warning to eliminate the violation, which was fully complied with.
The advertiser turned out to be Yandex Reklama LLC. This legal entity was issued a warning about "the inadmissibility of violating advertising legislation and the necessity of taking measures aimed at preventing similar cases in the future."
MART also reminded that for non-compliance with an order to eliminate a violation, as well as for issuing two or more orders within a year, an advertising distributor may be excluded from the Register of Advertising Distributors.
