Today, the Lithuanian Seimas voted for the candidacy of Social Democrats leader Mindaugas Sinkevičius for the post of prime minister. He replaced Inga Ruginienė in this position.

80 parliamentarians voted in favor, 2 against, 28 abstained, reports Radior.
Now, within 15 days, Sinkevičius must present the composition of the new government and its program. Sinkevičius previously stated that six to seven ministers might change in the new cabinet.
Sinkevičius is 42 years old, he was born in the Jonava district, was the mayor of the Jonava district, and in 2016-2017 served as Minister of Economy in Saulius Skvernelis's government.
