There is an urban settlement in Belarus where no weddings were held for a year
In Belarus, for every 10 marriages, there are 7 divorces. However, in some regions, divorces occur much more frequently. And there are also those where not a single marriage was registered throughout the year, noted Thinktanks.pro.

Statistical curiosities are observed in sparsely populated regions.
For example, in the urban settlement of Bahusheusk, Sennensky district, according to Belstat data, only one marriage was concluded and 7 divorces were registered in 2025. And in the urban settlement of Yuratsishki, Ivyevsky district, there were no marriages at all, with four divorces.
Moreover, such sad statistics are not at all uncommon for modern Belarus: divorces outnumbered marriages in 2025 in 35 districts and cities of the country.
There are opposing "statistical jokes" — in the urban settlement of Krivichi, Myadel district, one marriage was registered and not a single divorce. Although such cases are rare.
The leader in "marriages" is the town of Turau — here, 12 marriages and only 4 divorces were registered during the year.
Among large cities, Minsk demonstrates the most favorable statistics — here in 2025, 13.65 thousand marriages were registered, while divorces account for slightly more than half of this number — 7.7 thousand. The worst situation is in Grodno: 2.15 thousand marriages and 1.5 thousand divorces.
However, it is worth noting that the favorable picture of the capital is spoiled by the surrounding areas — thus, in the Minsk region, i.e., in villages and towns located beyond the Minsk Ring Road, divorces outnumber marriages. And the entire Minsk region is the leading region for divorces — here, for every 10 marriages, there are 7.8 divorces.
The least problematic region in this regard (though only relatively) is the Brest region, where 6.7 divorces occur per 10 marriages.
