A conversation between Zelensky and Putin will not happen suddenly, "like a bolt from the blue," however, if Russia's hints at dialogue are sincere, Ukraine "would also be ready," said during a visit to Lithuania the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, former head of Ukrainian intelligence Kyrylo Budanov, writes LRT.

On Sunday, after a visit to Moscow, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated that if Zelensky wants to meet for negotiations with Putin, he should call the Kremlin chief. According to Fico, this was the answer Putin gave to Zelensky's expressed desire to meet with the Russian leader in any format.
Answering journalists' questions about the possibility of such a conversation, Budanov joked that interstate telephone lines between warring countries are disconnected, and "such calls are not made via mobile phone."
"Seriously, if the Russian Federation is truly ready for a serious conversation, Ukraine would also be ready," he said.
"Ukraine has repeatedly emphasized and proven by its actions — we advocate for the end of the war, for peace. This is the official position of Ukraine, supported by the President. We advocate for a cessation of hostilities. I want to emphasize once again: concluding peace is not a weakness, but proof of common sense," Budanov added.
He noted that the situation on the front remains "stable," as does the Russian regime. "But nothing in this world is eternal," stated the former head of Ukrainian military intelligence.
