A 19th-century red brick manor is cheaply sold in Polesia. Can be converted into a residential house

The Olesz-Bereżnowski manor in Stolin district has been put up for auction. The two-story mansion in the village of Nova-Berezhnoe is being offered for 12,892 rubles (less than $5,000).

The building itself does not have the status of a historical and cultural value, which significantly simplifies life for the future owner — it can even be converted into a residential house, writes Onliner.by.

The lands in Nova-Berezhnoe belonged to the noble Olesz family for more than four centuries — since 1508. The manor itself, in its current form, was completed by Konstantin Olesz in 1890. It is a classic example of Neo-Gothic: a rectangular building with a hipped roof, lucarnes and an elegant faceted tower on the rear side.

The mansion, with an area of 426 square meters, is surrounded by an old landscape park. Once, more than 50 species of exotic trees grew here, and a hornbeam alley led to the house.

After the war, the building was adapted for housing for workers of the local distillery, but for the last few decades, it has been empty and gradually decaying.

Despite its impressive red brick exterior, the interior of the manor requires major renovation. Electricity is dismantled, stoves are not working, and utilities need to be reinstalled.

Together with the house, the buyer receives a plot of almost 38 ares on a 50-year lease. The main advantage is the absence of strict restoration regulations.

The owner can decide what to arrange in the former estate: a hotel, a cafe, a commercial object, or a full-fledged residential house. The only requirement is that the original architectural appearance of the facades must be preserved during reconstruction.

The auction is scheduled for May 29. The starting price of the lot is 12,892 rubles.
