As reported by Reuters, citing two industry sources, a fire broke out on April 23 at the Gorki oil pumping station in the Nizhny Novgorod region, which is part of the Transneft system. At least two of the four large-volume oil tanks there were on fire.
The station is located near Nizhny Novgorod and is used for transporting oil for export towards the Baltic Sea, as well as for supplies to large Russian oil refineries.
Local governor Gleb Nikitin reported an attack by several drones and damage to a facility on the enterprise's territory as a result of falling debris and a subsequent fire.
Earlier, a fire was also reported at the oil terminal in Tuapse, which lasted several days and was accompanied by heavy smoke and environmental consequences, including significant sea pollution over a large area.
