The leaders of Russia and the USA, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, during an earlier telephone conversation, noted the importance of Russian-American combat brotherhood, said Russian Ambassador to the USA Alexander Darchiev, writes RBC.
“In a telephone conversation, the presidents noted the importance of Russian-American combat brotherhood as a positive event that contributes to strengthening our relations,” he said, calling such recognition “very important.”
Darchiev also answered affirmatively to the question of whether the last telephone conversation between Trump and Putin would lead to results: “I think so. I am sure it will,” the diplomat said.
He added that ties between Moscow and Washington are being restored, albeit not as quickly. Darchiev called the good personal relations between Putin and Trump important for this process. And the current American authorities, according to the ambassador, demonstrate a positive attitude towards restoring contacts.
The presidents last spoke by phone at the end of April.
Trump then called the conversation with Putin “very good” and stated that the main focus was on Ukraine. He noted that Putin "had been ready to make a deal for a long time," but "some people" complicated such a step for the Russian president.
