Belarusian Football Champion Distributed Gifts to Children from Occupied Territories of Ukraine
The club «ML Vitebsk», the reigning champion of Belarus, posted a message on its Telegram channel stating that it «welcomed children from the Donetsk People's Republic to our beautiful city».

«From our club, as a big sports family, each child was presented with special gifts. We hope that these football-related souvenirs, which unite the hearts of millions of people, will bring them joy, become a good memory of a warm welcome in Vitebsk, and small symbols of our friendship.
We wish the children from the DPR a wonderful holiday and vivid impressions» — wrote the club's press service.

Despite the apparent harmlessness and even supposed humanitarian nature of such a message, such actions are far from irreproachable from a moral and political point of view.
The deliberate policy of exporting Ukrainian children from territories occupied by Russia to Russia and Belarus, along with accompanying ideological indoctrination, is internationally assessed as a war crime. For this very reason, the International Criminal Court has already opened a criminal case against Russian President Vladimir Putin and some of his associates. The ostentatious participation of a Belarusian football club, which is soon to start in European competitions, in this could create problems for it.
Apparently, the awareness of this was partly why the post was removed from the club's Telegram channel shortly after publication.
