Near Kobryn, poachers who illegally shot a moose were detained. They were placed in a pre-trial detention center. As part of the criminal case, about 300 kilograms of moose meat, two registered firearms with ammunition, and two cars were confiscated.

Traces of blood on the edge of an agricultural field helped uncover the crime. In the forest, inspectors found the remains of the animal: head, hide, hooves, entrails, and spine.
During the inspection of the illegal hunting site, employees of the Brest Regional Inspectorate for the Protection of Wildlife and Flora found tire tread marks and a broken piece of a bumper grille.

In a nearby settlement, a car was found that was missing precisely this fragment of the bumper. The pattern of its tire treads matched the marks at the crime scene.

Two men in camouflage clothing were found on the premises. On the roof of the outbuildings, inspectors found six bags of fresh moose meat. Inside the second car, there was a registered hunting rifle, which, as the inspectors discovered, was used to shoot the moose.

The men confessed on the spot. The Kobryn District Department of the Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of Belarus — for illegal hunting that caused damage on a particularly large scale.
According to the State Inspectorate for the Protection of Wildlife and Flora, the amount of damage caused amounted to 300 basic units, or 13.5 thousand Belarusian rubles.
