A list of goods that cannot be imported from Latvia has been published
On October 19, it became known that from December 15, 2026, Belarus will expand the ban on the import and sale of goods from Latvia. A government resolution with a list of specific items has now been published . The list includes canned fish, books, furniture, auto parts, fishing tackle, and a range of industrial goods.

Among the prohibited products are ready-made products and canned goods made from salmon, sardinella, sprats, and cod, as well as vitamin and mineral mixtures for food supplements. The restrictions will affect printed books, newspapers, reproductions, and other printed matter.
The list also includes decorative plastic items, wooden frames for paintings, photographs, and mirrors, hygroscopic cotton wool, certain wool blankets and throws, furniture, and its parts.
The ban extends to auto parts and accessories for vehicles, fishing rods, fishing tackle, and some hunting accessories.
Restrictions will also cover industrial goods: bearings, parts for agricultural machinery, blades for circular saws, communication equipment, including routers and antennas, as well as certain transformers, switches, relays, and sockets.
The resolution will come into force on December 15, 2026. The ban applies to goods of Latvian origin and products manufactured in Latvia. However, it does not apply to goods imported into Belarus before December 14, 2026.
Earlier, the Belarusian government explained its decision to restrict the import of Latvian products by stating that Latvia, according to Minsk's assessment, adheres to "unconstructive approaches" and uses "unfriendly rhetoric" towards Belarus.
