"Minsk Heritage" is starting the reconstruction of yet another Catholic church owned by this state enterprise. As noted by Katolik.life, it announced a tender for the selection of a general contractor to carry out the reconstruction of the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, six burial chapels, and the entrance gates at Kalvaryja Cemetery in Minsk.

The announcement states that construction and installation works are to begin on December 1, 2026, and be completed by November 2027. The works will cost an estimated 7.3 million rubles — more than 2 million euros — which are to be allocated from the city budget.
The church will likely be closed for the duration of the repairs, and parishioners will have to find a new place to pray, as the works are expected to be extensive. Judging by their scope, the functioning of the parish in the church during the reconstruction will be impossible.

Within the church itself, the project envisages the restoration of the building's facades, including the restoration of memorial plaques, replacement of the roof with a standing seam roof made of steel sheet with polymer coating, restoration of decorative elements of the drainage system, and replacement of window and door fillings with wooden ones, restoring their historical appearance.
The interior decoration includes, in particular, the replacement of the floor — the new covering will be made of porcelain stoneware tiles. One of the documents also mentions the dismantling and restoration of the altar part podium with its railing and the choir supports.
Judging by the external appearance of the church, it is indeed in need of repair. As reported earlier, the church, chapels, and gate were initially planned for reconstruction in 2025, but the deadlines were postponed.
Meanwhile, work at the Red Church in Minsk, which is closed for reconstruction, is expected to be completed in April 2027. It has been closed for over four years.
