Following Siliņa's statement, the Latvian government will formally be considered dissolved.

Siliņa's resignation came after the left-centrist 'Progressives' party decided to withdraw from the ruling coalition, following Evika Siliņa's demand for the resignation of Defense Minister Andris Sprūds (who belongs to the 'Progressives' party) amid the arrival of drones in the country.

On Thursday, May 14, a vote of no confidence in the Prime Minister was scheduled to take place in the Latvian Saeima.
