A missing woman has been searched for in Krupki district for the third week. Searches have reached a massive level
In Krupki district, searches for 72-year-old Alena Cekhavaja, who disappeared at the end of April, have been ongoing for about three weeks. Today, the searches reached a particularly large scale: a headquarters was set up in the forest and a large number of participants gathered to survey the territory, reports "Minskaya Prauda".

The main difficulty is that there are almost no exact clues about the woman's route. It is only known that she left her home in the morning, and this was captured by cameras near the entrance. She did not have a mobile phone, she didn't use it, so it's impossible to track the woman's movement through communication. Later, she was allegedly seen near a railway crossing before the forest, but even this is not 100% confirmed.
This very spot is considered the last likely point where she could have been. According to testimonies, the woman was wearing light clothing and a headscarf. Her trace is lost beyond that, and it is unknown whether she went towards the forest consciously, by accident, or might have become disoriented.
Various services are involved in the search: police officers, riot police (OMON), K9 units with dogs, drones, as well as volunteer squads. In addition, divers have been called in to check the water, as the possibility of an accident near a river or other bodies of water is also being considered.
The forest territory was divided into squares of approximately 500 by 500 meters. Each group receives its section and works with GPS trackers to accurately see where the area has already been checked. This allows them not to miss zones and gradually expand the search radius.

Rescuers note that one of the main problems is the almost complete absence of landmarks. If even some item belonging to the woman had been found, it would have been possible to understand her direction of movement. But without this, searches are essentially conducted "by area," which greatly complicates the work and makes it one of the most difficult.

Search leaders also say that the likelihood of finding the woman alive is now very low, as a lot of time has passed. However, the operation does not stop, because every square still needs to be checked.

The missing woman's son says that his mother lived a quiet life, never went into the forest alone, and never lost contact. He did not find out about her disappearance immediately and subsequently contacted the police. The family and loved ones are still hoping for something, although the situation is very difficult and disturbing.
Searches continue with the involvement of a large number of people, and they are planned to be carried out in the coming days until a result appears or new important clues emerge.
