The cause of the incident on the railway in the Belgorod region was a Russian FAB-500 aerial bomb, accidentally dropped in the wrong place, Astra writes .

The bomb fell directly onto the railway tracks in the Yakovlevsky district of the Belgorod region. It did not explode, but damaged about 25 meters of the railway track.
The driver of the railbus, which was traveling on the "Razumnoye — Tamarovka" route and carrying 15 passengers, noticed the damage in time and applied emergency braking.
As a result of the incident, a 75-year-old woman was injured. Sappers arrived at the scene and later removed the aerial bomb.
Initially, Belgorod region governor Vyacheslav Gladkov stated that the cause of the train derailing could have been an explosion. However, he later edited his message and removed the mention of this version.
Since the beginning of 2026, at least 24 Russian FAB aerial bombs have already fallen on the territory of Russia and Russian-occupied Ukrainian regions.
