The head of the federation, Kata Bratbak, emphasized that the country's position is unequivocal: Norway will not host competitions as long as athletes from Belarus and Russia can fully participate in tournaments, use state flags and anthems.
Now Norway seeks to expand this approach and calls on other countries to join the boycott. At the upcoming meeting with representatives of Northern European states, the possibility of joint actions against World Aquatics' decision is planned to be discussed.
The international federation itself stated that it continues to adhere to the position that sport should remain a space for peaceful competition between athletes from different countries.
Earlier it became known that athletes from Belarus and Russia were again allowed to participate in competitions under state flags, in appropriate uniform and with anthems, and their full membership in the organization was restored.
Prior to this, Poland also announced that it would not allow representatives of Belarus and Russia to participate in the 2027 European Diving Championships, which it is scheduled to host.
