The collection of short stories titled "Some things have already happened" (original Russian: «Некоторые вещи уже произошли») became a reflection on the last five years of the author's life — from 2020 to 2024, writes Reform.news.

The book's design has its own history: the cover is adorned with the painting "Erroneous Formula" by artist and punk musician Vasil Pachitsky, who passed away in 2024.

"This book is a report on what happened. It could not have been otherwise, it could not have happened differently. Some things have already happened — and this book is also such a thing... I would really like it to find that very reader for whom it will become a little easier and who, with some paradoxical post-apocalyptic relief, will understand that they are not alone," the writer noted on her social networks.

In the book, Zamirovskaya explores how major and personal catastrophes affect language, identity, and psyche. The collection includes stories from the universe of her novel "Smertsi.net" (Deaths.net), texts for international art projects (in particular, for projects by MMoma, Mumok Museum Wien, and other institutions), "many American stories," "many Belarusian ones," as well as continuing stories.

For example, a screenplay for a film has already been written based on the short story "Precisely what it seems to be" together with director Darya Zhuk, and the text "Can I talk to a living person?" will give its name to the author's upcoming English-language book.

The book was published by "Publishing House of Elena Shubina." The multilingual narrative with Belarusian-language fragments was preserved in its original form.

The edition can already be purchased in stores in Warsaw (Bukinistka), Latvia (kniga.lv), the USA (Kvartirabooks), and even in Belarus (on oz.by).

Tatyana Zamirovskaya is a Belarusian writer, journalist, and music critic. Author of the collections "Life Without Noise and Pain," "Land of Random Numbers," "Sparrow River," the novel "Smertsi.net" (Deaths.net), as well as recent works — "Candles of the Apocalypse" and the collection of essays "Eurydice, check if you turned off the gas." She has been living and working in New York for more than ten years.
