Lithuanian border guards showed how a bear swims across the river near the border with Belarus VIDEO
On the border of Lithuania with Belarus, Lithuanian border guards spotted a bear calmly walking near the state border in the Ignalina district.

The animal was recorded by officers of the Tverečius outpost using a surveillance system. The bear appeared near the very border in a place where the Disna river flows from Lithuanian territory into Belarus. In this area, the border runs along the middle of the river.
Initially, the animal walked along the physical barrier installed on the Lithuanian side. Then it looked around near the bridge over the Disna, which border guards use during patrols.
After this, the bear calmly went deeper into Lithuania. Next to it, on the patrol road, a border guard's official SUV drove past, but the animal was hardly scared.
Soon the bear swam across the river, crossed the patrol path, and disappeared into the country's forests.
Besides this incident, over the past day, bears were also seen by officers of this same and neighboring border outposts. It is not yet known if it was the same animal.
Lithuanian border guards note that bears are not being spotted for the first time on the 679-kilometer border with Belarus.
