In the 27th minute, Tanzania-born Nestory Irankunda opened the scoring — just like Brazilian Vinícius Júnior, and even in a yellow-green kit.
Irankunda plays for "Watford" from the English second division, which Sir Elton John once bought and served as director for.
Then Turkey attacked Australia's goal for 60 minutes, who bravely and intelligently defended, with "Melbourne's" goalkeeper Patrick Beach being the most heroic.
And in the 75th minute, the "Socceroos" launched a counter-attack, and Connor Metcalfe of "St. Pauli", who are leaving the Bundesliga, scored from 25 meters into the opponent's goal — 2:0.
In the next round of this group, Australia will play the USA on June 19, and Turkey will play Paraguay on June 20.
It's worth noting that yesterday, the USA decisively beat Paraguay 4:1.
Today, two more matches will be played at the World Cup: Germany — Curaçao (20:00) and the Netherlands — Japan (23:00).
