The young man put a virtual item up for sale in a thematic group in a messenger, instead of an official trading platform. A supposed buyer contacted him and suggested conducting the deal through a "guarantor" for security.
Later, a fake intermediary was added to the correspondence, who appeared to be a genuine participant in the deal. The victim believed the scheme and transferred the virtual item to the specified platform. After this, he was shown a forged confirmation of money transfer to the "guarantor".
As soon as the item was transferred, the young man was removed from the chat and blocked. He never received the money.
The police remind that such schemes are a typical form of fraud. To avoid becoming a victim, transactions should only be conducted through official and verified services.
