Lviv declared 2027 the year of UPA and Roman Shukhevych. Polish military aid package at risk
Poland has suspended deliveries of a large military aid package to Ukraine after the Lviv Regional Council decided to declare 2027 the year of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) and its leaders Roman Shukhevych and Oleh Olzhych. A source in the Ukrainian government informed "European Pravda" about this.

According to the source, deputies of the Lviv Regional Council made this decision just as Poland was preparing to transfer a significant military aid package to Ukraine. Its deliveries are now suspended. Ukrainian authorities, the source claims, are trying to resolve the situation in a closed-door regime.
On October 20, the Lviv Regional Council voted to declare 2027 the year of Roman Shukhevych, the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, and Oleh Olzhych.
Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that such a decision harms relations between the two countries. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, in turn, noted that similar steps aid Ukraine's enemies.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine emphasized that the decision was made at the regional level without consultations with Ukrainian diplomats and central authorities. The Ukrainian foreign ministry called it counterproductive.
According to a statement from the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, the Ukrainian side assured Warsaw that the decision of the Lviv Regional Council would not be implemented.
