Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in an interview with ABC News that if Putin agrees to a 60-day truce, Ukraine will hold elections.
«I know that Putin would very much like to change the President of Ukraine, I understand that. And if President Trump really wants some changes to happen in the elections, I also told his team, please tell Putin to give us two months — 60 days — of a complete ceasefire, and we will organize elections.»
The day before, US President Donald Trump spoke out for the resignation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
«I think it's time for Ukraine to get a new president. I suggest they get a new leader who can make a deal. Because he could have made many deals, but for some reason he never does," Trump stated.
He also confirmed that he urged Ukraine to stop striking Russian oil refineries.
Zelenskyy responded to this, saying that he would not stop striking Russian oil refineries as long as Russia attacks Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
