Donald Trump conceded the possibility of Los Angeles and San Diego being destroyed in the context of a war with Iran. The American leader stated this at a rally in Grand Island, Nebraska, where he was speaking in support of Republican Senator Pete Ricketts, writes Mediaite.

Speaking about the rise in gasoline prices due to a war with Iran, the president called them a small price to pay for the security of the US and the world.

“And again, remember: in connection with the war, it's all artificial,” he told rally-goers. “Prices are a little higher. It’s a small price to pay to keep the world safe and our country safe.

They can destroy a city. Let them destroy Los Angeles. Let them destroy San Diego. This is a very small price, and it will all be over very quickly. In fact, it’s almost over already.

Or maybe they'll continue a little longer. You know, they always say: "They have a high pain threshold." They need this, believe me. But it will all be over very quickly. And it will end one way or another. And your gas, petrol, and everything else…”

When Trump said: "Let them destroy Los Angeles or San Diego," the crowd applauded and cheered these words.

It is unclear whether the president envisioned a scenario in which these two cities were already destroyed, or was suggesting allowing their destruction.

“Don’t forget, we took on a country called Venezuela,” he continued. “They never talk about Venezuela. We are getting hundreds of millions of barrels of oil. We are filling the country with oil in volumes no one has ever seen.”
