According to the Latvian Prime Minister, this measure is supported by all parties represented in the country's Saeima (Parliament).

The Latvian authorities explain this decision by their desire to create obstacles for Russia's export of grain from the Ukrainian territories it has occupied.

Lithuania also announced today that it will closely check the origin of all transit grain coming from Russia and Belarus.
