A video appeared on social media showing children and their parents selling homemade lemonade and baked goods in the yard of an apartment building. However, according to Belarusian legislation, this is not allowed, explains a lawyer to the publication "Arguments and Facts in Belarus".

As explained by lawyer Kristina Yakuta-Marchuk, individuals without the status of an individual entrepreneur can only trade in places specifically designated by local authorities. Moreover, the list of goods permitted for such sale is limited.

Without registering as an individual entrepreneur, one can sell, for example, used non-food items, products gathered in the wild, as well as agricultural products grown on one's own land plot.

Homemade baked goods and other food products are not included in this list. Therefore, the sale of such products in the yards of residential buildings, as well as on streets, in parks, public gardens, and stadiums, is prohibited. Illegal trade can result in a fine.
